Family photography
Family photography in Argentina is a 30-minute portrait session for a family on holiday or at a reunion, priced from $140 for 20 edited photos delivered within 7 days. The session is paced for the people in it rather than for the photographer: small children get games and movement instead of long holds, grandparents get a chair and the first portraits, and the gallery is downloadable by every branch of the family. The 20 photos cover the full group, each household, and the children on their own.

Argentina is a country where three generations often travel together, and the places families choose reflect that. In Buenos Aires the parks of Palermo, the Rosedal and the riverside paths give shade and room to run. On the Atlantic coast, the beaches of Mar del Plata and the pine-shaded streets of Cariló fill with families from late December to February. Around Bariloche and San Martín de los Andes the lakeshore works in every season, while the sierras of Córdoba and the estancias near San Antonio de Areco offer horses, open grass and old trees. The best spot is close to where you are staying, so nobody arrives tired.
Timing matters more with children than with anyone. The morning works for small children who wake early, and the hour before sunset works when bedtime allows; Argentine families eat late, so an early-evening session in summer rarely clashes with dinner. From June to August the light fades early, and a late-morning session in a sunny spot is often the gentlest choice. In the summer heat of Mendoza or Salta, sessions move into shade or into the first hour of light.
Private places come with their own rules. Hotels, estancias and holiday rentals decide whether an outside photographer may work on their grounds, and some charge for it, so ask before booking. National parks such as Nahuel Huapi or Iguazú are run by the Administración de Parques Nacionales, which regulates photography with a commercial purpose under Resolución HD 297/2018, and we check the park’s position before confirming. If someone in the family is expecting, the maternity session can be booked alongside; if the family is gathering for a fifteenth birthday, the fiesta de 15 page covers that night.
Questions about family photography
What time is best for a family photo session with small children in Argentina?
A family photo session with small children in Argentina works best in the morning, when children are rested, or in the hour before sunset if bedtime allows. Argentine families eat late, so an early-evening family session in summer rarely clashes with dinner, while in winter, June to August, the light fades early and morning is usually easier.
How many people can a family photography session include?
A family photography session in Argentina can include parents and one child or three generations at a reunion; tell us the headcount when booking. With large groups, the 30 minutes go to the full group first, then each household, then grandparents with grandchildren; a longer family session can be quoted in writing before booking.
Where do families take photos in Argentina?
Families take photos in Argentina in the parks of Palermo in Buenos Aires, on the beaches of Mar del Plata and Cariló in summer, on the lakeshore at Bariloche or San Martín de los Andes, among the sierras of Córdoba, or on an estancia near San Antonio de Areco. The best family photo spot is one with shade and room for children to run.
Can the family session happen at our hotel, rental or estancia?
A family session can take place at a hotel, a holiday rental or an estancia in Argentina if the property allows outside photographers. Some hotels and estancias restrict or charge for outside vendors, so ask the front desk or the host before booking family photography, and check whether the photographer must be announced at the entrance.
