Weddings & elopements
Destination wedding photography
Destination wedding photography in Argentina is full-day coverage of a wedding with guests and a party, priced from $1,400 for 8 hours and 500 edited photographs delivered within 6 weeks. The couples who book it mostly fly in with their guests, and the day happens at an estancia in the pampas around San Antonio de Areco, a bodega in the Valle de Uco below the Andes, a lake hotel in Bariloche or Villa La Angostura, a winery in Cafayate, or a restored palace in Buenos Aires. The figure is a starting quote rather than a closed package, because a second venue, a welcome asado or extra hours change the day.

An Argentine wedding keeps its own clock, and the hours have to be placed deliberately. Dinner commonly starts late in the evening and the dancing often runs until sunrise, so eight hours cannot run from the first button to the last song. Most couples spend them from getting ready through the ceremony, portraits, the entrance and the first hour of the party, and add hours for the late part of the night only if they want it. That choice is written into the quote before any deposit, together with travel when the venue sits a long drive or a flight from Buenos Aires.
The venue writes half the rules of the day. Estancias, bodegas and hotels each set their own terms for an outside photographer: whether an outside-vendor fee applies, what insurance they require, where flash is allowed and whether a drone may fly over the vines or the lake. Ask the event coordinator for those terms in writing before you sign. A ceremony inside a national park adds the Administración de Parques Nacionales, which regulates commercial photography under Resolución HD 297/2018, so outdoor ceremonies in protected areas are planned with the park well ahead of the date.
Law and calendar matter too. Under article 406 of the Código Civil y Comercial, a marriage exists only when both spouses consent before a Registro Civil officer, so a ceremony at an estancia or a bodega is legally symbolic unless that officer is present. Many foreign couples marry at home and celebrate in Argentina; others add a civil wedding at the Registro on a separate day. The seasons are the Southern Hemisphere’s: December to February brings long Patagonian evenings and strong heat in Mendoza, and June to August brings snow around Bariloche and early darkness everywhere.
This service is for a wedding with a guest list. If the plan is the two of you and a celebrant with no party, the elopement page is the right one and costs less; if the plan includes a hike to a glacier lake, look at the adventure elopement; and if you are already married and want to restate your vows with your children present, a vow renewal is shorter still.
Questions about destination wedding photography
Does 8 hours cover an Argentine wedding party that runs until dawn?
Wedding photography in Argentina starts at 8 hours because a typical Argentine wedding dinner begins late and the party often runs past sunrise, which no single shift can cover. Most couples place the 8 hours from getting ready to the first hour of dancing; extra hours for the late party are quoted in writing before the deposit.
Can an outside wedding photographer work at an estancia or a winery in Argentina?
Whether an outside wedding photographer can work at an Argentine estancia, bodega or hotel is decided by each venue: ask the event coordinator in writing whether the venue charges an outside-vendor fee, requires insurance, or limits flash and drones. Get those answers before signing the venue contract, because they change the total cost of the wedding photography.
Is a wedding in Argentina legally binding for a foreign couple?
A wedding in Argentina is legally binding only when the spouses consent before a Registro Civil officer, under article 406 of the Código Civil y Comercial; a religious or symbolic ceremony has no civil effect on its own. Many foreign couples marry legally at home and hold the celebration in Argentina, or book a separate civil wedding at the Registro.
Why is wedding photography in Argentina quoted rather than fixed?
Wedding photography in Argentina starts from a fixed 8-hour day, and the quote then adjusts for what moves the cost: a second venue, a welcome asado or day-after session, hours past eight, and travel to venues such as Valle de Uco or Bariloche. The quote is written and agreed before you pay, so nothing is added on the wedding day.
Which months suit an outdoor wedding in Argentina?
An outdoor wedding in Argentina follows the Southern Hemisphere calendar: December to February is summer, with long evenings in Patagonia and strong heat in Mendoza and Salta, while June to August is winter, with snow around Bariloche and early dark everywhere. The wedding photographer builds the timeline from the real sunset time of your date.
