How much a wedding photographer costs in Buenos Aires
Wedding photography in Buenos Aires starts at $1,400 for an 8-hour day and 500 photos. What moves the quote: hours, a second camera, film, drone, the Registro Civil and the venue.

Wedding photography in Buenos Aires is a quoted service whose starting price here is $1,400 for an 8-hour wedding day with 500 edited photographs delivered within 6 weeks, and whose final figure depends on the hours, the number of locations and whether film or a drone is added. A civil ceremony alone starts at $350. This guide explains each line of a quote, so a couple can see what it is made of before signing.
The starting prices
Every price below is the published "from" figure in US dollars for coverage booked here, before any venue charge.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wedding photography | $1,400 | 8 hours | 500 edited photographs | 6 weeks |
| Civil wedding | $350 | 2 hours | 120 edited photographs | 10 days |
| Elopement | $750 | 3 hours | 150 edited photographs | 3 weeks |
| Wedding videography | $1,600 | 8 hours | A 6- to 8-minute film | 8 weeks |

| Engagement session | $140 | 30 minutes | 20 edited photographs | 7 days |
Only the full day is quoted rather than fixed, because a Buenos Aires wedding varies more in length and geography than any other session on the list. The others are packages that can be booked as they stand.
What moves a Buenos Aires wedding quote
Hours, and how late the party runs
The 8-hour day is designed to run from the last hour of getting ready to the opening of the dance floor. A porteño wedding party often continues well past midnight, with a late-night food service and a second round of dancing, and every hour of coverage beyond the eighth is added to the quote. A couple who wants the vows, the family photos and an hour of portraits usually fits the 3-hour elopement, which costs about half of the full day.
Locations and the distance between them
A wedding day in Buenos Aires often has three addresses: the Registro Civil or a church in the city, a salón or a hotel for the party, and sometimes an estancia an hour or more outside the city in the province. Every move between them is time on the road for the photographer, so the quote names every address. A wedding in the delta at Tigre or on an estancia near San Antonio de Areco also adds travel to and from the city.
A second photographer
One photographer cannot cover both partners getting ready in two homes, or the guests' faces while facing the couple at the altar. A second photographer is quoted on top of the full day for guest lists large enough that a single camera misses half of what happens. For a civil ceremony with 20 guests, one photographer is enough.
Film
A wedding film starts at $1,600 and is a separate person with separate sound equipment, not a mode on the photographer's camera. Couples who want both should book them together, so that the photographer and the videographer plan the same 8 hours and agree where each stands during the vows. The photo, video and drone guide explains how the three crews share one day.
Drone
Aerial coverage is its own $500 line, flown by a pilot who works in Argentina. Buenos Aires is a demanding city for it: Aeroparque Jorge Newbery sits on the riverfront inside the city, and RAAC Part 100, section 100.17 as amended in 2026, keeps drones off the Casa Rosada, embassies and public buildings without authorisation. An estancia in the province is usually far simpler airspace than a rooftop in Recoleta. The drone guide sets out the rules.
How the Registro Civil fits into the day
A marriage in Argentina is only legal when it is celebrated before an officer of the Registro Civil. Under the Código Civil y Comercial, article 416, the couple applies to the Registro Civil of the domicile of either partner, and article 418 requires two witnesses at the registry office and four when the ceremony is held outside it. Article 419 adds that a partner who does not understand Spanish must be assisted by a sworn public translator.
That shapes the photography in two ways. Many couples hold the civil ceremony on a different day from the party, which is what the civil wedding package covers: 2 hours, 120 photographs, delivered within 10 days. Couples who are not resident in Argentina often marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony in Buenos Aires, which can then be photographed anywhere the venue allows. The guide to getting married in Argentina as a foreigner explains the paperwork in full.
Venue costs that are not in our price
The figures above pay for the photographer and the edited work. A venue can add its own conditions, and none of them is set by us.
- Outside-vendor rules. Some salones, hotels and estancias work with an in-house list and charge or restrict outside photographers. This guide quotes no such fee, because it varies by venue and changes, so ask the coordinator for the current conditions in writing before you sign either contract.
- Meals and breaks. An 8-hour day includes a meal break for the photographer; ask the venue whether vendor meals are served or need to be ordered.
- Access times. Churches and some heritage buildings set when cameras may move and whether flash is allowed during a religious ceremony. Ask the parish or the building before the day.
- Public space. Portraits in a plaza or along the river need no booking for a couple and one photographer, while a larger set-up is checked with the city first.
How to read a quote
A clear Buenos Aires wedding quote names the date, every address, the hours of coverage, the number of photographers, the number of edited photographs, the delivery time, and whether film or a drone is included. Ours does. The Buenos Aires page shows the neighbourhoods couples choose for portraits, the locations guide covers the best places for them, and the pricing page lists every service. When you are ready, send your date and the addresses you have in mind.
