Real estate drone footage
Real estate drone footage in Argentina is a two-hour aerial shoot of a property and its surroundings, priced from $380 for 20 edited aerial photos and a 1- to 2-minute aerial film delivered within 5 business days. It answers the questions a listing photo cannot: how close a cabin in Villa La Angostura really is to the lake, what a hillside lot looks like in the sierras of Córdoba, where a house in Tigre sits on its stretch of river, or how a new development in Cariló or San Martín de los Andes relates to the forest around it. Owners, agents, developers and estancia managers book it for listings, rental platforms and sales presentations.

Filming a property for a listing is paid drone work, and the rules are those of RAAC Parts 100 and 101, approved by Resolución ANAC 550/2025. A drone of 250 g to 25 kg flies in the Open category after a free digital sworn declaration to the Registro Nacional de Aeronaves; in that category the pilot licence and insurance are voluntary, but the pilot, the operator and the drone’s owner remain liable for damage to people and property on the ground. Every shoot booked here is flown under third-party liability insurance by a pilot who works in Argentina, and the written go-ahead of the owner or manager is collected before the flight.
People, privacy and airspace shape the shot list. A drone may not fly over people who have not consented, and Part 100 makes every camera drone subject to Ley 25.326 on personal data, so neighbouring gardens, pools and windows stay out of the frame; in a barrio cerrado or a country club the administration usually sets its own drone rules and has to approve the flight first. A property inside an aerodrome control zone cannot be flown in the Open category, and within 5 km of a runway threshold in controlled airspace the drone stays below 43 m. Rural land is simpler: since Resolución ANAC 312/2026 a rotary-wing drone of any weight flying only in a rural zone counts as Open category, which suits an estancia or a farm.
Real estate drone footage is the outside of the story; the inside is real estate photography, a separate booking of ground-level interior photographs, and many listings use both on the same day. Morning usually gives calmer air and soft light on the facade, while wind tends to build in the afternoon, strongly so in Patagonia and on the Atlantic coast. A west-facing terrace or a lit pool suits the last hour before sunset, so the final aerial shots are timed for it.
Questions about real estate drone footage
How is real estate drone footage different from real estate photography?
Real estate drone footage shows what a ground camera cannot: the shape and size of a lot, how far a house sits from the lake or the beach, the roof, pool and garden from above, and the vineyards, sierras or coastline around a development. Interiors are photographed at ground level by real estate photography, a separate booking; many listings in Argentina use both, shot on the same day.
Does a drone pilot need a licence and insurance to film a property in Argentina?
In the Open category of RAAC Part 101 a pilot licence, registration in the Registro Nacional de Aeronaves and insurance are all voluntary, while the pilot, the operator and the drone’s owner stay liable for any damage to people or property on the ground. Real estate drone footage booked here is flown under third-party liability insurance regardless, and the drone is declared to the Registro Nacional de Aeronaves.
Can a drone film a large estancia or rural property?
RAAC Part 100 treats a rotary-wing drone of any weight that flies only in a rural zone as Open category, and Part 101 lifts its adverse-weather restriction there, which makes real estate drone footage of an estancia or a farm simpler than of a city block. Airspace still applies: a property inside an aerodrome control zone, or close to an airstrip, is checked with the pilot before the date.
Can a drone film a house in a gated neighbourhood, or the neighbours?
A drone may not fly over people who are not part of the shoot without their consent, and Ley 25.326 on personal data applies to every camera drone, so real estate drone footage keeps the frame off neighbouring gardens, pools and windows. In a barrio cerrado or a country club the administration usually has its own rules on drones, so ask it to approve the flight in writing before the date.
What time of day is best for real estate drone footage?
Real estate drone footage usually starts in the morning, when the air is calmer and the light on the facade is soft, because wind tends to build through the afternoon, strongly so in Patagonia and on the Atlantic coast. A west-facing terrace or a lit pool suits the last hour before sunset; the 120 minutes on site are timed around which way the house faces.
