Many office towers register visitors at the front desk with their ID number, so send the building the photographer’s details in advance and the half hour starts on time.

Two outfits fit comfortably into 30 minutes: a jacket for formal uses and a more relaxed option, both in solid colours, because small checks and thin stripes flicker on screens. Bring them pressed and on hangers. Retouching evens skin, removes temporary blemishes and stray hairs, and corrects colour, while scars, freckles and lines stay, so the person at the meeting matches the photograph on the website. The 20 headshots are chosen by you from the full set before retouching, and arrive sized for LinkedIn, the company website and print.

For a team, consecutive 30-minute sessions with identical lighting and background are booked as a block and quoted together, often on the same morning as a corporate event or an office move.
