Quinceañera photography

The running order is the photographer’s map. Every fiesta de 15 has its own sequence — some families add a video, a surprise dance or a change of dress — and the organiser of the salón usually controls the timing. The order of the night is agreed with the family and the venue’s organiser beforehand, together with two lists that matter on the night: the family groups to photograph, by name, and the fifteen people who will receive a candle, since each of them hopes to see that moment in the gallery.

The venue writes its own rules. Many salones de fiestas include their own photography or charge for outside vendors, and hotels and estancias set conditions on access, flash and where a photographer may stand during the vals. Ask the venue in writing before booking, and ask the organiser to share the running order with the photographer. Many Argentine families also book a "book de 15", a portrait session weeks before the party for the invitation or a slideshow; that is a separate session, and the five hours on the night still include portraits of the quinceañera before her entrance.

The person at the centre is a minor. A parent or guardian books the coverage and agrees how the photographs are used, nothing from the night is published on a website or social media without the family’s written permission, and the gallery is shared only through a private link the family controls. Relatives abroad who cannot travel often receive that link first. Hours beyond five, for the late part of the party, are quoted in writing before booking.
