Preparation does more for a listing than any lens. A checklist arrives before the session: clear every countertop, hide cables, remote controls and toiletries, make the beds with plain linen, raise every blind, switch on every lamp, mow the garden and clean the pool if there is one. Each room is photographed once, straightened and colour-corrected, so whatever is left in view on the day stays in the listing. Exteriors are shot in the hour before sunset when the sky is still blue and the windows glow, and the 3 hours are timed around which way the main rooms and the view face.
The 35 edited files arrive within 72 hours in horizontal and vertical crops for the main Argentine listing portals, Airbnb and social media, with a cover image chosen with you. Platforms change their photo guidelines, so check the current ones for the portal that matters most. A rental that is occupied is photographed between stays, and any person who would be recognisable in a picture — a tenant, a neighbour, a cleaner — is kept out of the frame, because article 53 of the Código Civil y Comercial requires consent to reproduce anyone’s image.
Real estate photography covers the inside and the ground-level outside. The view from above — the lot, the roof, the distance to the lake or the beach — is real estate drone footage, a separate booking, because drone flights in Argentina follow the Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) rules in RAAC Parts 100 and 101 and need a pilot and an airspace check. Many listings use both on the same day. For a hotel, a lodge or an estancia, where the stay itself is being sold, hotel and estancia photography is the fuller booking.
Questions about real estate photography
How should a property be prepared for real estate photography?
Before real estate photography, clear every countertop, hide cables, remote controls and toiletries, make the beds with plain linen, open every blind and curtain, switch on every lamp, and have the garden mowed and the pool, if there is one, cleaned. Each room is photographed once in the 3 hours, so anything left visible on the day stays in the listing.
Are real estate photos suitable for Airbnb and Argentine listing portals?
Real estate photography is delivered as 35 high-resolution edited files in horizontal and vertical crops that fit Airbnb and the main Argentine listing portals, with a cover image chosen with you, within 72 hours. Check each platform’s current photo guidelines, since they change, and tell the photographer which one matters most for your listing.
When is the light right for real estate photography?
Real estate photography usually starts with the interiors in the morning and ends with the facade, garden or balcony in the hour before sunset, when the sky is still blue and the lamps inside glow. A 3-hour session in a Buenos Aires apartment is timed around which way the windows face; a house in the sierras of Córdoba or on a lake in Patagonia around its view.
Can real estate photography include drone shots?
Aerial photos are booked as real estate drone footage, a separate service, because drone flights in Argentina follow the Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil (ANAC) rules in RAAC Parts 100 and 101 and need a pilot, a drone and a check of the airspace around the property. Real estate photography on its own covers interiors and ground-level exteriors, and the two are often shot on the same day.
